  1. What is the key difference/s between ratio and proportion?

The key difference is that ratio is a comparison of numbers that can be expressed as a fraction, while proportion is a statement that one ratio is equal to another ratio.

What are the rules you have to observe in ratio and proportion?

In ratio, all three representations, whether statement, eewmath statement or fraction must be the same and when a unsimplified ratio is simplified, the result must be the same as the original.
In proportion, the cross-multipication of the ratio/fraction must have the same results to show that the ratio/fraction is the same.

  2. What is the key difference between ratio and proportion?

Ratio is the amount contained within another while proportion is number compared to a whole.

What are the rules you have to observe in ratio and proportion?

The numbers are always compared within one another.

  3. 1)Ratio is a way to represent fraction, while proportion is the statement which a ratio is the same as the another one.
2)When we are representing ratio, we have to do it in the order of what the question asked for. For proportion, the ratio, when changed to fraction, can be cross-multiplied and the product will be equal.

  4. 1. Ratio: A comparison of numbers that can be expressed in fractions
Proportion: Is a statement stating that one ratio is equal to another ratio.

    2. Ratio: The order of number is critical, has to be simplified.
Proportion: The ratio has to be equal if they are is the same statement.

  5. Ratio is numbers that can be expressed in fractions which can be put side by side with a ":" in the center.

Proportion is like when one ratio is equal to one ratio.

What is/ the key difference/s between ratio and proportion?
Ratio is referring to the numbers separated by : while proportion is the word used when two ratios are equal.

What are the rules you have to observe in ratio and proportion?

Ratio:The order of the number is critical and it has to be simplified.

Proportion: If you cross-multiply the terms of a proportion, those cross products are equal.

  6. A ratio is to compare numbers which can be expressed as a fraction.
A proportion is to see whether the ratios are the same or not.

Ratio is to compare numbers while proportion is to compare the ratio.

In proportion, you have to cross multiply the fractions which is from ratio.

Simplify the ratio into a simpler form.

  7. I believe that the difference between ratio and proportion that ratio is a way yo show one thing is bigger than the other but proportion is a way to show that one ratio sentence is equivalent to the other

  8. Ratio is about numbers but a proportion tells us that on ratio is equal to another.
The first step is always to reduce the ratio to the lowest term and the order of number is important.
For proportion if you cross-multiply the terms, the will be equal.
You must place the same at the same position.
    Eg. Height/shadow=Height/shadow

  9. 1) A ratio is comparing amounts of something while a proportion is comparing 2 sets of ratios.
    2) Both has to be comparing which thing is bigger.

  10. Q1)Ratio:A group of numbers being compared to one another and can be expressed as fractions.
Proportions:A statement where two ratio/fraction with different digits have the same mathematical value.Eg:1:2 = 2:4

Q2)Ratio:The order of numbers in a ratio is very important and must be simplified.
Proportions:Both ratio must be equal if they are of the same statement.

  11. Ratios can be expressed as fractions.
Proportion is the comparison of something to something.
Rules you must observe are keep numbers in the order stated in the question. Always use the same units.

  12. What is the key difference between ratio and proportion?
1.Ratio-It is a relationship between two quantities, normally expressed as the quotient of one divided by the other.
Proportion- it is to see whether the ratios are the same or not.
2.Ratio:The order of the number is critical and it has to be simplified.
In proportion, you have to cross multiply the fractions which is from ratio.

  13. What is/ the key difference/s between ratio and proportion?

Ratio is comparing a value to another, and the ratio can be expressed as a fraction. Proportion is comparing two different ratios, but values are the same.

What are the rules you have to observe in ratio and proportion?

When doubling ratios, we must remember to double both values. For proportion, when it is changed to fraction and is being cross multiplied, the product of both should be the same.

  14. What is/ the key difference/s between ratio and proportion?
A ratio is a comparison of two numbers by ratio while a proportion is a statement that tells two ratio.

What are the rules you have to observe in ratio and proportion?
The orders of number in ratio has to be simplified while for proportion, you will have to cross multiply the fractions
